Community Action

Soup Run

Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month we takes part in a local soup run. We make sandwiches, soup, coffee, and tea for people of our community who have no fixed abode. This is an ecumenical (churches together) effort which we feel privileged to be apart of.

Storehouse

Storehouse is a food bank ministry that aims to support families, couples and individuals in short term need of food and essential items such as cleaning products and toiletries. It is a practical ministry that meets the basic commandment given by Jesus to love our neighbour, care for the poor, and proclaim the good news of His Kingdom. Over the last year we have committed to working with and alongside multi agencies aiming to support those in need.

Storehouse operates from our drop in centre based at The Yard on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 10 -12.30 pm.

Healing On The Streets

Healing on the Streets (or HOTS as we call it) is an opportunity to go out into the local community and practically demonstrate the love of God by offering to pray for those in need. We have had the privalage of praying for people from all walks of life. Some people claim to have experienced physical healing, a breakthrough in difficult personal circumstances, and a sense of peace and reassurance. This emerging ministry is open to anyone from the vineyard who has completed the necessary training .Our team simply takes out a few chairs into the local town centre, on a Saturday. We then invite the Holy Spirit to minister and to those who wish to be prayed for.

CAP

Undoubtedly one of the biggest issues facing people today is money management. Put quite simply more people than ever before are struggling with living costs and crippling debts. Part of our vision and passion as a Church is for all of us to discover practical and spiritual principles for handling our resources in such a way that we can escape debt, be free to live generously and feel positively about money and how to handle it. CAP encourages local Churches and communities to become financially wise. They are an award winning charity who provide good, helpful, and practical advice to anyone in need. West Wilts Vineyard has partnered with CAP to run a FREE “Comprehensive yet astonishingly simple money management course to help you get, and then stay, in control of your finances.” For more details on when these courses are run please see our calander link then events and conferences.

Compassion

As from September 2008 West Wilts Vineyard decided to embark on a longterm overseas project through the organisation Compassion. Compassion is a Christian charity that works to ensure that children in need of aid are given support - emotionally, financially and spiritually. As a community we are investing in the lives of several children from Bolivia. We hope that as we grow as a community, so will our commitment to this organisation. — perhaps in time we could support an entire village!
