Young people are the heartbeat of any Church and at West Wilts Vineyard we aim to encourage them to be fully involved with all we do. We guide them to find new, creative and exciting ways to live life and love God. As well community events that take place through out the year, the following activities are available for children and teens. Please note that all our volunteers are DBS cleared.
Sparks on Sunday is a fun and age appropriate environment for children 0-5 years. Spark sessions are held in a dedicated room where you will find lots of great toys and activities for children. Every week we have fun through free play, great stories, crafts and games. This year we’ve planned for every kind of activity you can think of including painting, colouring & sticking, making, play dough & junk modeling, stamping & printing, mask making, role play, dressing up & games, food decorating and face painting. Phew! There is also a designated area for babies to enjoy.
Each Sparks session is thoughtfully written with your child’s growth and enjoyment in mind. We will use various stories from the Bible to explore God’s nature, the life of Jesus, and various themes such as creation, faithfulness, family, kindness and prayer. Through animation clips, story telling, games, crafts and reflective exercises, prayer and learning to connect with Jesus, our hearts desire is that children in our care will grow to love God and love people.
The Bible stories in focus for this year will be:
-In The Beginning & Adam and Eve
-Noah & The Big Boat
-David & The Giant
-Daniel & The Lions
-Jonah & The Big Fish
-The Life of Jesus including Christmas & Easter
If you would like to stay in the session with your child, our team is happy to include you in your child's learning and play by inviting you to work with them to complete activities. Every week we will ask a parent or carer to sign their children in and out of the session. For Sparks please do this at the beginning of the session. Please check with the session leader that there are enough helpers available for you to leave your child for the duration of the service.
Just in case you were wondering – 411 is an American expression to denote “whats the word on the street” We love the sentiment that this reflects – what’s new to learn and what’s all the excitement about! Jesus teaches that He has called us to life in all its fullness. 411 aims to explore what this looks like in our day to day lives. As with Sparks, 411 sessions are held in a dedicated room and each week you will find everyone having a great time as they play games, get messy through art and craft activities, explore some great stories, and think about how we can connect with God to become fully alive!
Every session in 411 is written with your child's development and enjoyment in mind. Using various stories from the Bible to explore God's nature, the life of Jesus and various themes such as creation, faithfulness, family, kindness and prayer, you will find an environment of fun, learning and envisioning!
This year 411 will follow the Apostle Paul's journey as they discover what kind of person he was, what adventures he got into and how he responded to some tricky situations!
In the new year will be following a brilliant course called "Ten". This explores the ten commandments in a different and fun way!
Finally there are a few unsung heroes in the Bible and 411 will be taking a look about what makes them special. The team can't wait!
Ignition on Sunday is a thought provoking and fun environment for youth aged 11-16 years. Each week you will find them chatting, engaging with media, challenging each other, completing fun games and most importantly exploring how to negotiate life with Jesus at the centre. To aid discussion we place youth into ages specific groups – this way they get to connect with other at the same stage of life!
We are delighted to say that Ignition will now be meeting every week and we have some great activities in store!
Also keep an eye out for youth life groups, The Pulse youth gathering run by Wiltshire YFC and various events that will emerge during the year.
